So I had more blood drawn on Monday to test my HCG levels to make sure they are doubling every 24-48 hours. I was just about to call the doctor on Tuesday morning to get the results, when they called me. The nurse said the doctor is concerned because my levels are actually a little on the high side. Could be lots of reasons why they would be high, some good, some bad. They had me come in for an ultrasound just to check everything out.
They cannot see the baby yet (which is pretty common at this point as it is barely a quarter of an inch long). But they said the placenta is forming as it should and everything looks good. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't see the baby or a heartbeat, but they are having me come back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound. By then, we should be able to see a little baby and a heartbeat! I cannot wait till April 1st!!!

Second HCG Levels & Dr. Appt
I had blood work done on 3/3 and just got the results yesterday. My HCG was 3000!! My levels are doubling every 27 hours. The doc said it's looking good but he wants me to do more blood work on March 10th.
I also had an ultrasound and we could see the gestational sac, but couldn't really see the baby yet which is pretty normal. we should be able to see the little tadpole's heatbeat at my ultrasound on 3/17. Can't wait!!!

HCG Levels are Good!
I just called the nurse and my HCG levels came back at 143 which is normal for 4 weeks. I go back on Tuesday and they should be between 300-500. Grow baby, grow!!
I'm so bad at keeping secrets!
I know they say to wait until the first trimester is over to tell anyone, but we just couldn't contain ourselves!! So far it mostly just family and a couple close friends that know and they were all really excited about it!
Today I was feeling a little regretful of telling everyone just in case something were to happen, but those people would be the first to be there if something did happen, so we are not too worried about it.
I wasn't going to tell my boss right away but I caved today. We were talking about some work issues and how it affects the future and I didn't feel right lying to him. I already had to lie to take time off work yesterday and didn't feel good about that either! He was bound to find out anyway cause I can't resist from looking at baby stuff while at work....I know, I'm a bad employee! But I am pleased to say that he was very excited for us and told me not to worry about my job getting done when I go out on maternity leave. He's awesome huh?

It's Official!!
So after the excitement of the positive test wore off, I called my doctor and made an appt to be seen to get the "official" confirmation. I mentioned to them that I had some cramping on the right side so the doctor decided to do an ultrasound. I was excited till I realized it was an internal ultrasound! Yikes! Now I know why they call it the "Dildo Cam!"
But because I am only 4 weeks along, they couldn't see anything which is completely normal. The Doc said you usually can't see anything till at least 6 weeks, so I go back on the 17th for another one. Should be able to see the little guy/girl and hopefully hear a heart beat! They also did some blood work to make sure my HCG levels are ok. I go back for more blood work on Tuesday. The level of HCG should be doubling every 48 hours so if the level goes up on the latter test, then everything should be good. We are anxiously awaiting my appt next Thursday to hear the results of the tests. Cross your fingers!

And We're Pregnant!!
So Bryan and I officially starting trying to conceive this month. I had just went off the pill in December after being on it for about 14 years, so we really thought we might have a tough time. Add to that the fact that I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism and we really thought it might take a while!
But we decided to give it a shot anyways. After ovulation, I was a bit excited about everything, so I tested at 6, 10, and 12 days post ovulation and all were BFNs. :( So I pretty much thought this cycle was a dud and went out and bought a Basal Body Temp thermometer and an Ovulation Predictor Kit to "get serious" about this.
I started charting on 2/24, which was the day that Aunt Flo was due. Well AF didn't come that day. Thinking she was just being stubborn, I decided to wait a day...well she didn't come that day either. How rude of her I thought! So just because I like peeing on sticks, I thought I'd do it just to be sure....well lo and behold I got a very faint line on a First Response Early Response test! I had to wake Bryan up to make sure he saw it too! And he did. I had a digital test, so I pee'd on that one too and it said "Yes!" I could not believe my eyes! Here are the tests:
